What is People String?
People String is a social media site that launched on September 23, 2009. People String is making a bold attempt to compete with giants like Facebook by paying anyone and everyone to recruit members and grow its ranks. While it may be a considerable challenge to grow membership, advertisers are confident this approach will work.
Members get paid to remain active on the site and for being exposed to advertising. They share 70% of the profits with other members as long as they log in regularly. Owners are banking on this being money well spent and far less expensive than the massive campaign it would take to convert millions of Facebook users.
People String has the potential to be quite lucrative, for those willing to recruit on their behalf on an ongoing basis. Members get 5% of revenue generated by their direct recruits and 2% of all those they recruit - up to 6 levels deep. Simple math can show the revenue potential can become quite significant. For those not interested in recruiting others, the remaining income streams may be more to their liking and more are to be added over time.
People String is bound to become a popular online hot spot.
Join People String now and begin getting paid to do what you love to do!

Love them or hate them, everyday millions of people spend their time on Facebook taking quizzes, participating in polls, and playing games using applications created by their peers for fun. AppBank (www.appbank.com) announced today that it is "sweetening the pie" for Facebook application creators with the first solution that pays people to develop social entertainment applications for Facebook. The new solution is free and designed to help non-technical people create any number of high-quality quizzes, gifts, polls, surveys, tests, and games to make an unlimited income per month through an innovative ad-share model. In addition, the platform strictly abides by Facebook Platform Terms and Policies and includes sophisticated filtering technology that automatically prevents users from creating offensive or inappropriate content.
"All in the name of fun, people have created amazing entertainment applications in Facebook for their friends and millions of other Facebook users to enjoy," said Fred Hsu, CEO and president at AppBank. "Our new approach crowdsources the development of social entertainment applications to the public and compensates them with ongoing ad revenue. The higher the quality of application, the more views, which means the sky is the limit in terms of creativity and earning potential for AppBank creators."
AppBank: Helps Application Creators Earn Money on Facebook
Facebook currently has more than 300 million active users worldwide, with millions of users logging on to Facebook each day, sharing more than two billion pieces of content each week. With AppBank, everyday people looking for supplemental income can develop, promote, and most importantly generate revenue from creating entertaining applications for Facebook. AppBank’s top earners currently make up to $769 per month — useful for buying books for college, paying for fuel, putting extra groceries on the table, or adding to a family’s vacation budget.
"I had never created any sort of Facebook application before, so I watched the AppBank tutorial then completed the template. Within 30 minutes I created my first Facebook quiz ‘What TV Couple Are You?’", explains Jennifer Pinel, a recent college graduate. "By monitoring the statistics AppBank provided for my application, I was able to fine tune it for greater pick-up. I already earned a few hundred dollars with just one application and I’m energized to make more."
By pairing relevant ads with crowdsourced entertainment applications, AppBank is able to share ad revenues with Facebook application creators, a notable first in this industry. Highlights of AppBank’s offering include:
- Anyone can publish applications with AppBank. Technical programming skills are not required to create a broad set of fun applications including quizzes, gifts, polls, survey, tests, and games that have the potential of reaching millions of users. Stay-at-home moms, college students and anyone that can use the Web can create an AppBank application with short training videos and simple templates that guides users through an easy step-by-step process, point and click functionality for embedding pictures and YouTube videos, and marketing tips to promote apps.
- It’s free to make money on Facebook. AppBank’s crowdsourcing model is based on matching ads with applications that work well together and in turn, sharing ongoing ad revenue with application creators. Higher quality applications tend to get more views, equating to more money.
- The AppBank Dashboard provides creators with maximum visibility. Through a highly visual dashboard, application creators can access all the information they need for every application they create. Users can easily track how well their application is doing with detailed information on who is using the application including information on their sex, age, location, and more. This reporting can also assist creators with refining their applications to make them even better, and eventually yield more money.
Availability
AppBank is currently in beta. To qualify for making money on AppBank, people must be a resident of the United States and Canada as well as over age 18 in the United States. For more information and to try out AppBank’s news tools and training materials, visit www.appbank.com.

Mingle360 – Social Networking Meets Soccer Mom’s and Carpooling

When Mingle360 came up with the MingleStick and the online software for centralizing your address book that enables you to manage your social and professional network – I’m pretty sure they had visions of conferences and tradeshows in mind. When I was told about the MingleStick, my first thought was a way of organizing all my personal contacts that are associated with my kids, church and local groups and organizations I belong to. Then with all the connections I’m making on Facebook and Classmates.com, I realized what a valuable tool the MingleStick would be to have at my next class reunion.
The MingleStick is a USB device that allows two users to exchange contact details wirelessly. The collected information on the stick can be uploaded to an online application website on Mingle360.
Not to worry though, all your information is completely safe. The MingleStick only allows the exchange of very basic information that is then loaded onto your computer. Once you’ve loaded the information, the person you are attempting to connect with must authorize you as a contact in order for you to see more detailed information.
Having two teenage boys with very busy social lives makes my life the perfect pile of chaos for MingleStick to begin organizing.
Obviously I’m all about gadgets and gadgets that make my life more simple and organized is always a good thing.
Have you tried the MingleStick? If you were to get one, what sorts of things do you do where the MingleStick might come in handy? I’m thinking carpool like a rock star!
MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin – Double U – Tee - H

Communicating in 140 characters or less!
I’ve never really stopped to think about the various social networking sites and tools until my son and I had a conversation that left me feeling quite blond and puzzled. Not hard, I know, but still… humor me here.
I’m just not sure how to describe the various social networks – so I’ve decided to call on friends and readers to sound off on just how they would describe each.
First I’ll share with you what I told my son and then you can correct me if you think I’m wrong…
When he asked me if I had a Facebook, I told him yes. Naturally he asked, what the heck is Facebook and how is it different from MySpace?
Then the ever popular question these days – “What the heck is Twitter?”
Why Bebo?
and finally “Which one’s do you belong to mom?”
So I explained…
I have a MySpace, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter and a few others and that is where I must draw the line. I just can’t go beyond that and still have time to maintain my income.
My simplified explanation of these as follows:
* MySpace is a socializing website for teens, young adults, stars and music
* Facebook is sort of the same only for young adults and tracking down your old school classmates and college friends without having to join Classmates.com for $29 plus a year.
* Linkedin is for professional adults and for networking with people in business and sometimes it’s helped people land really awesome jobs.
* Twitter – everyone is doing Twitter. Twitter is like text messaging meets the internet. It’s a way to text all your friends at once and have them text you back.
Now it’s your turn – how would you describe each to your teenager who might be growing more curious about this whole idea of networking?
