Storing up sunshine for those cold winter nights

It’s true! It can be done - at least now it can - thanks to designer Tobi Wong.
This would make a perfect accessory for those of you who love the sun during the day and who mourn it’s absense during the long cold winters.
You simply have it sit in the sun during the day and see it radiate at night. All made possible by modern technology – some LED’s, a solar panel and some ingenious thinking.
The sandblasted glass makes it seem as though the jar is truly emiting warm sun light. It is also a great little idea for an outdoor summer dinner, where you have the jars scattered around the table, or an evening at the beach where they will provide just the right amount of light, or as garden illumination, just position them at strategic points in your garden or rooftop terrace or balcony – they work equally well in so many locations.
Now, granted the price is a bit steep for some - and I certainly wouldn’t rush out and spend $44 each on 10 of these jars. If you don’t mind missing out a bit on the sandblasted glass and going for a more simplistic approach, LifeHacker has served up instructions on making a Home-made Sun Jar.
What a nifty and classic gift idea for the holidays! It’s not very often you can say that you’re giving loved ones sunshine in a jar.
Sun Jar is available at Target for $44.99

Gayla - This is a neat little deal. When I saw the jar in the window I thought how cool it would be to have something like that without having to worry about burning the house down.

I am crazy about solar lights. I’ve been thinking of what to do with all my half broken gardens lights and I may put them into jars.
