Serious About Blogging? Are You Sure?
By: Gayla Baer

You know how some days you happen on a brilliant idea that you want to post about, even if the idea belonged to someone else and you want to give them a mention? You tell yourself you won’t forget and you’ll write about it later! Suddenly you find yourself standing in the shower, hair lathered with shampoo and the thought hits you – OH, I can’t forget to blog that today – then you forget, again!
Well today the idea came back and fortunately I was sitting right here at my computer and before allowing that big gaping hole of forgetfulness to suck me into forgetting again, I’m going to tell you RIGHT NOW!
If you are truly serious about blogging and would like to make a career out of it, you’re going to want to read each and every one of the 55 articles Matt Huggins has linked to on his 55 Essential Articles Every Serious Blogger Should Read.
Sometimes I find myself talking until I’m blue in the face, trying to get friends and family to wake up and realize they do have the capabilities of creating additional income by blogging. I could always point them in the direction of some of these articles, but there’s something to be said about the old saying, “you can lead a horse to water…”
Anyway, if you’re reading this post, you’re probably one of the more serious folks that’s trying to take blogging seriously. I do hope you’ll learn from these.
If you have an article that you found helpful, I’d love for you to share the link with me!
While I’m on this constant journey to find the end of the internet, the fact remains, I can’t be everywhere all the time
Enjoy!

headed over now to read those articles.
Argh, now you made me having to read a huge list of articles again!
Let’s bookmark that page and start with it soon, hehe.
Well, just when I thought I was going to bed! This is one of those that you just gotta sit and read till your done!
Seriously, thanks!
Thanks I’ll check it out!
Read em all. Thanks a lot for the groovy info. So much information . . .
Oh that’s the blog post someone sent me when a few months back I mentioned I wanted to start a blog! I read all 55 articles before I even attempted to start my blog. And I’m glad I did, because I found I saved a lot of times doing things “right” the first time – like using WordPress, rather than starting on a hosted platform.
Not that there’s anything wrong with not using WordPress! I am just happy with all the plugins I can use with it!
Thanks for the great resource link to the 55 articles for bloggers. Will certainly keep me busy. I’ve been blogging for a while & I recently found these great free news widgets to add to my sites.
Oh…forgot to mention these two….
Article by Willie Crawford…How I Manage To Get It All Done and another great free resource is the The Thirty Day Challenge
Good list of articles.
One tip I have to keep up with blogging, especially if you keep several blogs is to do this:
Go to my.yahoo.com and add your rss feeds as content to your my yahoo page. The default is to show your posts in the last three days.
I usually start off the day at my yahoo page and see what blogs are not showing any posts in the last 3 days and take care of them first.
