Philips 9-Inch Digital Picture Frame - A MomGadget Review
It isn’t often that I get overly excited about anything - so when I do, most people who know me, know it’s something huge and amazing!
My most recent excitement is thanks to the Philips Digital Picture Frame.
I had seen them in the stores and thought how nice it would be to have one, but it’s not one of those things I’d purchase for myself.
Since wishes do come true and now that I have one, I can guarantee I will be purchasing more as gifts.
Regardless of what colorful words I choose, I’m positive they’ll pale in comparison to the actual experience of seeing your own live production of family photos as they parade across this vibrant screen.
Much like a presentation in Power Point — your photos will fade, fold, emerge, roll and puzzle their way across the screen in a way that will impress everyone.
I’m not sure what the full capacity is as far as how many photos it will hold, but at this point, I have over 30 of my favorites stored.
Technical Details
- Displays your digital photos with professional print quality and the full spectrum of colors. With options to manipulate photos to black and white or varied degrees of sepia.
- 9-inch TFT LCD display screen features adjustable brightness to match ambient light conditions, and intuitive operation that doesn’t require any programming.
- Connects via USB directly to your camera or PC. Owners manual claims this frame supports up to 12-megapixel photos in the JPEG format - I suppose mine aren’t considered megapixel - so this isn’t exactly clear.
- Runs on AC power via the included adapter, or lasts up to 8 hours on its included rechargeable battery
The frame comes with an adjustable stand so you can display your photos landscape or portrait style. The package also includes a bracket and instructions should you wish to hang your frame on the wall.
I cannot stress enough just how wonderful this frame is and what an amazing gift it would make for any mother, father, grandparent, graduate, newlyweds and quite possibly thee best ‘get out of the doghouse’ gift Ever!
Seriously, I haven’t been this excited since I got my first Swiffer!

Great review! Probably going to look into one for mom
We were at my brother’s house on Sunday and they had one on the table in the living room. I was sucked in! I kept watching it over and over. I will have to put one on my birthday list.
I’ve been wanting one since I saw some of these on a few blogs. They look really neat. Was going to ask about batteries but you just answered that.
They are the funnest to watch. I like that it can either be plugged in or battery. Though I have a feeling it’s going to get quite heavy trying to carry THAT brag book around
Even if it is early!
What a Mother’s Day
Have you seen the wireless versions of these frames (I don’t think Philips has one, but other companies do)? They add WiFi connections that let you send photos over the web or subscribe to Flickr feeds. They’re pretty cool options families that are spread across the country (or world). The set up for them is still kinda tough, but it’s getting better.
They really are great gift ideas. My parents have one and my husband and I just bought one Black Friday!
Great review! Digital photo frame is a great gift for parents!
I have been wanting one of these, maybe I’ll pick one up now!
Exactly what I was looking for. Great idea for upcoming x-mas.
