MomGadget Home Tour - Bathroom

by Gayla McCord on July 7th, 2008

Any mom knows, the few sacred quiet moments you can grab during any busy day is that time you block out to take a shower.

From the moment I lock the bathroom door behind me, my bathroom transforms into my own little getaway.  There are several items I use that are on the generic level, but there are some that substitutes just won’t do.

schick silk effects

Ever since I was a teen, my legs have been ultra sensitive.  Using the wrong razor often results in my looking like I’ve just battled an entire roll of barbed wire fence.  The one razor I’ve found that cannot be substituted is the Schick Silk Effects Plus Razor.  I love my purple razor and have no problem paying the higher price for the refills.

sonicare

Another gadget I’ve grown to appreciate is my Philips Sonicare FlexCare brushing system - I’ve been using Sonicare for about a year and have noticed a tremendous difference in my teeth.  They look and feel whiter, brighter and so much cleaner.

Aside from those two items - there’s my medicine cabinet that contains:

Crest toothpaste

face astringent

floss

Beauty items include Clinique brand:

mascara

eyeliner

eye shadow

and Cover Girl lip gloss

What about you?  What’s in your bathroom that you cannot substitute?

I’m pretty flexible about my products, but one thing I really miss is my Sonicare toothbrush. I have an older model that collects mold inside, and I eventually had to retire it when cleaning it constantly became too much of a chore. I’d given up on flossing because I do a special periodontal cleaning with a Perio-Aid, and when I did floss, nothing came out - the Sonicare was very effective at the between-the-teeth thing. Now I’ve gone back to a regular cheap toothbrush and I have to start flossing again. :( Lame.
