Momgadget goes Blog Tipping

Blog Tipping

Oh, the weather outside is frightful (y’all do know I’m in the Midwest, right?) and the blogging is so delightful – I decided to spend a portion of my morning participating in a cool little writing project called Blog Tipping.

I’ve been reviewing the whole blog tipping process over the last several weeks and actually like the idea of complimenting various unsuspecting bloggers.  The one part I don’t like is the suggestion part.  So, to keep from feeling like a big old meany, I just have to leave that part out unless there is something just SO obvious that needs attention.

So, won’t you come with me on my very first Blog Tipping journey?

My first Blog Tipping experience will be focusing on Mommy Bloggers that I’m pulling at random from my Blogger Chicks Blogroll – Sorry Dad’s perhaps another time.  I just thought it would be nice to offer up surprise tips :)

First up is - Blog That Mommy!  The Stay-at-Home Mom’s Action Adventure Guide

1. I love the clean design that loads quickly.  Living in the Boondocks and not having access to high speed internet, I have an ever growing frustration for websites that don’t consider us little snails on the net.  If a website or blog takes a long time to load I’m not staying – I get bored quickly!  But then again, like I have room to talk, huh?  A couple of my blogs take forever to load but darnit, I just love the graphics I have.

2. Neila has a way of writing that makes you feel as though you are stepping into her world.  I get the feeling that I could walk to my neighbor’s door and find Neila there.  If I didn’t know where she was, I’d swear she was local to me.  She does suffer from lack of Adult interaction, so be sure to stop over and say hello.

3. The fact that she is a Passion Parties Consultant isn’t overly obvious in her blogging and I like the way she mentions various items from the collection without it being intrusive or offensive for those of us with sensitive eyes LOL

The only bit of advice I would offer up to Neila is to check her sidebar links.  Some of them didn’t seem to be working (but that could just be the kind of day I was having – with the wind and all) and sometimes that can be a bad thing when you’re trying to rank in the search engines.

Next up is – Mommy Diary Tales

1. Amanda from Mommy Diary Tales is creating a wonderful blog that she’ll be able to reflect back on over the months and years to come.  What a nice way to chronicle motherhood.

2. The writing skills draw you into her world and allow you to feel what it’s like to be her – the mother of a toddler and the fears that go along with the approaching holiday season.  Gosh do I remember those days with the twins.  Amanda mentions the fear of a falling Christmas tree with a toddler underneath – umm Been there done that – not fun!

3. I love the photos Mommy Diary Tales shares.  I’d love to know what camera she’s using. The photos are so crisp and clear and don’t take forever to load.

The only think I could possibly suggest to Amanda is keep a scrapbook of all your posts for your little one to have when she grows up.  Some of your thoughts and postings are utterly priceless.

Last – I’m peaking in on Domestic Chicky – Deanna
previously found at: http://www.domesticchicky.blogspot.com/

1. Domestic Chicky has got a brand new look and I’m SO lovin’ it!  I just love retro looking blogs!

2. Looking at the list of all the hats this domestic chicky wears, I’m amazed she has time to blog at all.  She does a great job!

3. I love her writing style as well.  It’s sassy, informed and witty.  She really knows how to ‘bring it’ to the blogging parties.

The only piece of advice I’d offer this little chicky is to write a time management book.  Something tells me there’s a whole lot so many of us could learn from this one!

Easton Ellsworth from Business Blogwire introduced an idea called blogtipping.  Blog Tipping is a great way to meet other bloggers and pay a few compliments along the way.  Hey, who doesn’t like a compliment - and with Blog Tipping, you get THREE!  Blog Tipping takes place on the first of every month.

Won’t you consider joining us next month?  What a fun way to start the new year!
