MomGadget Father’s Day Gift Guide - Unique Gifts

by Gayla McCord on June 7th, 2008

therapeutic pillows Need a unique gift idea for dad this Father’s Day?  Why not pamper him a little with a well-deserved night’s sleep.  For his special day, give dad a Carpenter Medi-Comfort pillow.  It is made with high-density memory foam which reacts to body heat and weight and self adjusts to individual head and neck contours - virtually guarantying a great night of rest.

Moms will appreciate a reduction in snoring, if she can part with the pillow herself, with the unique design of the Medi-Comfort that adjusts the position of dad’s head and neck while he is sleeping to help open the airway.

In fact, I’d recommend getting a matching set for the both of you!

Great post. I’m a huge fan of gift cards, but I’m weary about the health gift cards. I work for a company that manages and tracks gift cards, and I’ve been following the health gift cards on savvywallet.com for sometime now. The concept is brilliant and revolutionary. However, in my opinion it’s another way for credit card companies and hospitals to make more money from their patients and customers. Even though the premise of the gift card is used for medical purposes only, it’s hard for the card to distinguish if Grandma is really picking up the prescription at CVS of purchasing the pack of cigarettes that are on sale. Although the card is supposed to be used for health purposes, it will be hard to regulate it. In addition, It cost around 5 bucks to activate the card, it can expire between 6 months to 12 months. After that they start deducting money from the balance. In my opinion? Offer to pay the bill instead of a medical gift card, offer to write a cheque to the hospital, or just give GMA the cash, and let her use it herself. How will she avoid the cigarettes? Tell her you love her, and that Santa Clause is always watching.
