Make It a Memorable Valentine’s Day

I love Valentine’s Day! Not just because of the red hearts, cute little cupids, abundance of chocolates and all the love that fills the air – but because it’s a romantic day that serves as the gateway to Spring. And it just so happens the Daytona 500 runs the weekend of or immediately following the most romantic of all days.
One of the most memorable Valentine’s I can remember was the year my sweetheart and I trekked into the city for a little romance and a little mingling with close friends at a Love & 500 party.
The day started off beautifully – but as the day moved on, the snow began to fall and fall and fall some more – it fell to the tune of 12 inches in 8 hours.
The county issued a state of emergency and issued warning to keep drivers off the roads. We found ourselves in the position of having to get a hotel instead of trying to drive home. Sitting in a warm hotel room, snuggling up with that special someone while looking out at as our entire world slowed to a snails pace while Mother Nature blanketed our surroundings with one final blast was priceless. Truly a memory I will treasure.
Fast forward to modern day and the upcoming lovers holiday – the economy is bad, times are tough – but that shouldn’t put a damper on romance. Love conquers all, does it not?
