Long Lasting Jack-O-Lantern
To help your jack-o-lantern last through October 31, rub a little Vaseline over the carved edges and along the inside. Vaseline seals in the moisture so the flesh of the pumpkin doesn’t dry out so quickly.

Vaseline will only speed the dying and rotting process. Try a control pumpkin and compare.
