Insignia Radio Compact Shelf System - A MomGadget Review

I always thought when I grew up and had a home and family of my own that I would possess complete control over the television and music selections! At least THAT thought was good while it lasted. The last time I remember having control over what music I listened to, was pre-marriage, pre-children and pre-adult-with-roomate.
The kids all have iPods, the husband somehow thinks that just because he happens to be in a vehicle, that automatically makes him ruler of the tuner. Of course I could beg to differ, but we all know the direction that takes - don’t we ladies?
A while back, I made the statement that mama was getting just a bit more selfish these days and well, after the UGG boots, Prada and Coach bags, I found myself longing for more. That ‘more’ happened to be a tuner of my very own. One on which I could play whatever I was in the mood for. If I want to listen to Christmas Carols 360 days a year, I can! Of course the first thing I wanted to listen to on my new system was Polynesian Spa. To me, that would be the truest test of the overall sound of my brand new Insignia 75W DVD, CD, HD Radio Compact Shelf System with USB Port. I know, it’s a mouthful to say, but a unit that offers the quality of sound that Insignia does with its latest model deserves to carry a name that is worthy of notice.
The sound is absolutely amazing and the ability to lay across the room with a remote and have complete control over my very own tuner is, well, like being Queen of the Tuner.
While I have claimed ownership, the kids have been given permission to tinker with the various features for the sake of a solid product review.
My son Coty tried out the iPod Deck right off the bat. He took advantage of the time I was spending in the kitchen toiling over the family meal - What I can say about this feature is, it works and it works well. I heard Linkin Park Minutes to Midnight crystal clear, three rooms away and that was with the volume set at about half the full potential.
The kid review - “this is wicked awesome. I want one!”

How long do you think it’ll be before they take that over also? I’ve learned to see my ownership of items as fluid with teenagers.

amazing how we can get swallowed up in taking care of everyone and everything else, isn’t it! i really like minimalist tech stuff - especially stereos. i’ll have to check this model out. i do, however, tend to like a more natural look - like wood on stereos. looks nice tho.

Looks like a great deal, but it’s not a brand name I have come to trust yet. I’ll look more into it.
