Don’t Lose Another Late Night Bright Idea

by Gayla McCord on July 1st, 2008

Are you like me waking up at 3:00 am with this wonderful idea, and hoping that you will remember it in the morning?

Well there is a great little solution that you can place on your nightstand, it is a note pad that has a small light attached that can be turned on when needed. This is the answer for all you blogger’s that get your best inspirations in the early morning hours without leaving your bed.

This post compliments of my mom - Jody Ferguson

I have tried this - the problem is that almost everything that I think is brilliant when I’m lying in bed turns out to be utterly stupid in the harsh light of morning.

hehe sounds like ya’ll were in my room last night. Woke up at 3:34 a.m. and couldn’t sleep because of some ideas.

Better yet - put a small cassette recorder on your bedside table - or that gizmo they advertise on television that allows you to record things, like shopping lists, and play it back at a later time. You won’t even have to open your eyes!

I assume that such ideas are just fool’s paradise and nothing else. You know, I even don’t like to think or imagine anything other than a good sleep so I don’t want to take that on my head.

I have a little battery operated flip light, and a notebook beside my bed. For those late nights when I just can’t go to sleep until I write down my thoughts.

I also have a digital voice recorder, but I worry that I’ll wake my husband if I talk, or he’ll wonder who I’m talking to.

He doesn’t even wake up for thunderstorms, so it’s probably not a valid concern:)

Linette, I have the same problem, I have a voice recorder but I don’t talk due to my wife. I have a jotter to jot down new ideas and strangely all ideas come in my mind in nights.
