A MomGadget Review - Fizzix: It’s a Fun Snack

yoplait.gifI got a case of Fizzix in the mail and out of all honesty, I had never tried a Go-Gurt but thought it was an interesting idea. Oh, wait before I get ahead of myself, a Fizzix is a Go-Gurt but with fizz in it. The kids LOVE this, at least mine do. In fact the cover alone got their attention, it has this giant green X on it. Inside each box is 8 Fizzix for them to eat. We got the Wild Cherry Zing and Strawberry Lemonade Jolt, I think the children liked the Wild Cherry best. Lemonade is good as long as it is frozen.

I decided that instead of just letting my family try these I’d have everyone that I know try them. I took a box with me down the street and asked several people.

Teen- I like this. Do you have more?
Teen- Wow! Wow that’s sour…I like it.
Kid- Mom, can we get some?
Kid- It’s like the go-gurt but with fun stuff in it.

As you can see, it is a hit with the kids. Now, this isn’t saying that it is only for kids though. After this little survey I decided to step it up a notch for our readers and I had my husband take a box to work. That’s right, this went to the Marines.

Cpl (20yr): He had the strawberry/lemonade
Great product, would definitely buy it. But he did state that it was a bit too tangy, however thinks another great flavor might be berry. Any berries out there?

Sgt (24): Thinks it tastes good, but wouldn’t buy it unless he had kids. He also believed it would taste better for adults if it were frozen instead of refrigerated.

PFC(20): The Fizzix were very good. It was like a cherry soda, they should have blue raspberry & mellow yellow flavors.

Two more Marines tried this but forgot to leave their rank:

“The Fizzix isn’t fizzy enough but the flavor is overwhelming. The texture and consistency are good.”

“This tasted like yogurt mixed with sprite, the fizziness wears off after a few seconds. It would definitely succeed in the market for anyone between 5-14 years old.

“The Fizzix are very tasty and a wonderful idea, ie go-gurts. The fizz is really not there. It’s almost as if the fizz is an after thoughts. If it’s going to be fizzy it should be like a soda pop’s fizz.

“I like the taste of the Fizzix and would most likely buy them even if the fizz isn’t that strong. But in order for them to be a hit for the kids, I think they should fizz like a soda pop.”

While it may not be for everyone, the kids definitely think it’s a cool snack to eat. I’ve actually had kids (the ones that tried them) knock on my door to see if I had any left. Shhh, I do but my kids like them. All-in-all I think this was a thumbs up, we’ll be buying more when the kids run out. I must add though that I believe the best way to eat a Fizzix is by tossing them in the freezer for a while. Yes, a frozen Fizzix is better than a cold one….at least that’s this household’s opinion.

Visitng your blog for the first time. I really enjoyed this post (I would have had NO idea what a “Fizzix” is, but now I’ll have to try one), and I really love your blog!

It sounds like a great snack for kids. But I’m curious - what did you think of Fizzix? You never really said if you liked them.

Hi ya’ll, it’s me MomGadget Eliza. For myself I liked them frozen I couldn’t eat them straight from the freezer. I only tried the cherry though as I don’t eat or drink anything with aid or ade in it. I can’t eat as many as the kids though.

Growing up I had the most boring lunches imaginable. Know that I am making lunches for my children I am constantly racking my brain to keep it interesting. Thank you for pointing out products like this.
